My name is Oliver. I’m a home networking enthusiast who has spent a lot of time looking into and resolving home networking problems and how to solve them. I’ve attended Cisco CCNA course and I’ve had an interest in various different areas on networking, but especially routers and router settings.
Basically, I’ve noticed in myself and others that the entire concept of routers, router configuration, router settings and wireless technology can be intimidating to many. But it needn’t be, so I want to create a blog that demystifies a lot of this for non technical home internet users.
Therefore I’ll look to provide info on routers, including:
- Answering common queries about modems/routers (functions, differences, inter-dependency of both devices).
- How to find and understand router access credentials (both for wireless connectivity and accessing settings)
- Different ways to actually access a router’s settings/configuration page.
- How to change some basic settings on the router or use it in a certain way.
- Troubleshooting common problems with routers, including settings access and connectivity issues.
- How to prioritize devices on the network to make it more efficient.
- Explore some more advanced home network configurations, including using multiple routers and routers with switches (and how to do so correctly).
With all this content, I’ll also aim to write in as down to earth a way as possible, so it’s easy to implement any steps for non technical users that don’t want a lesson in networking but just want to get a problem solved.
